Had a amazing time at Currie Market. Thanks to all the friends that supported me at this market during the hectic Stampede week. We had a little different set up from the markets before (learning from each market and altering adjustmenst to make experience better). This time instead of having all the buttercream treats melt slowly in the sun, we decided to keep the cakes in the cooler and we made varnished samples for display instead. These faux treats really out lasted the heat!
These are the Lemon Coconut cupcakes that we made for teh Currie Market. The Lemon Coconut are the specialty of Lemon Lindy Cakery. The cake is lemon cake with a lemon custard, and coconut cream topped with vanilla buttercream. The tatse is always the same however you might find that the design and decorative details to the cupcake is different every time. The Lemon Cococnut is also served in a cake tin form as well!
These Fruit cream cupcakes were made of vanilla cake with strawberry flavoring and strawberry chunks in the cake. We filled it lemon curd custrad and topped with strawberry buttercream as well as vanilla buttercream.
These Carmel Peanut Butter Cake tins were made for the Currie Market. The fusion of flavors are not usually what I would pair together but the decadence of the Peanut Butter and the caramel was tasty. The color of the Peanut Butter and Caramel also made great color combination. Neutral colors were used but the outcome was really pretty.
A client asked for two dozen cupcakes with the themed color of periwinkle, lilac and white. Here we made a dozen Cinnamon Vanilla Carmel cupcake with caramel filling and a dozen Chocolate cupcake with Cherry jelly filling. We decorated using the themed vanilla buttercream colored icing. Additions were added to make the cupcakes real special!
Was lucky enough to be asked to bake 300 mini cupcakes for the Hudson Bay and their lovely guests. Lemon Lindy provided the following flavors: Lemon, Cinnamon Vanilla and and a cookies and cream cupcake. The buttercream icing was in shades of purple and blue to fit with the Lavender Haze theme.
This was the first market for Lemon Lindy Cakery. Such a great experience sharing our cupcakes and cakes with everyone! The best compliment that we received was that the cakes looked to good to eat! “we thought it was soap” was the common thing we heard.
